I started researching Peter Wallover about a year ago. My ties to the Wallovers are through my husband's 2nd great grandfather, William Decatur Kartchner.
William's brother, Peter Wallover Kartchner, was apparently named after his great uncle, Peter Wallover, on their mother's side. Their mother's name was Prudence Wilcox. She was a daughter of John and Sarah Walton Wilcox, and Sarah's sister, Margaretta Walton, married Peter Wallover. Prudence's husband, (John) Christopher Kartchner, served with Peter in the War of 1812.
As I continue my research, I think I will continue to find that Peter Wallover served as a crucial benefactor to the Kartchner family, who suffered due to misfortune and Christopher's subsequent alcoholism and early death. Christopher was buried in a lot owned by Peter Wallover, (the lot is only listed in the cemetery records and does not have a headstone, something I hope to remedy).
If you are a Wallover descendent and come across this site, PLEASE contact me. What an interesting family. I have put my whole heart and soul into learning more about them and still have so much to discover.
Sincerely,
